During my previous life as a graphic designer I worked with studio based photographers, art directing and sometimes styling shoots for clients. These days I hold the camera, shooting a wide range of subjects, almost entirely on location, preferring to use natural light where I can. My photography began in earnest during regular visits to Portugal between 2010 – 2014 and subsequent book project 'Two Hundred Days', which helped in the development of my work – capturing candid moments in the lives of ordinary and extraordinary Portuguese people gave a more holistic portrayal of this country – it has led to my documentary work and intimate portraiture of working people. Travel continues to play its part in my photography.
